Club president Mark Thompson confirmed the team trained on the back field at Parap Oval on Monday morning, where forwards coach Lisa Nguyen ran lineout drills aimed at tightening the set piece ahead of the July 19 clash against the Katherine Cowboys. Several under-20 players from the Magpies academy also attended sessions run by the Northern Territory Rugby Union development program, which operates out of the same venue.
Numbers behind the rise
Average home attendance this season has reached 2,850, up 37 percent from the 2025 figure, with the club selling 1,240 season memberships at $185 each. The Magpies recorded 14 tries in their last three outings, the highest rate in the competition, while conceding just four.
Next weekend’s fixture against Katherine will be played at 7:30 pm at TIO Stadium, with gates opening at 5:45 pm and general admission tickets priced at $28. Supporters can purchase reserved seating through the club’s website or at the gate on match day.
