Best Brunch in Darwin: Cafes and Morning Spots for the Top End

Darwin's cafe and brunch scene is concentrated in the Dry season, when the tropical climate makes outdoor seating genuinely enjoyable from early morning through the middle of the day. The Mitchell Street precinct and the Darwin Waterfront area have the highest concentration of cafe options. Smith Street Mall and the side streets leading off it have established cafes serving the CBD office and tourism crowd. Parap Village, known for its Saturday market, also has quality cafes operating through the week that are popular with the local professional community. The northern suburbs of Nightcliff and Rapid Creek have neighbourhood cafes with a quieter, local character. The heat and humidity of the wet season push most Darwin residents toward air-conditioned venues; outdoor seating culture is firmly a Dry season phenomenon.
